  1. Information collection and use.  WIseman Motor Services Limited (hereinafter referred as WMS) is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share or rent this information to others in ways different from those disclosed in this policy. WMS collects information from our users at several different points on our website.

  2. Cookies.  The WMS website aims to comply with the EU’s Privacy and Communications Directive in relation to the use of cookies and similar technologies. This policy outlines how this website sets cookies on your computer.

  3. What Are Cookies?  Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site. Most web browsers allow some control of most cookies through the browser settings.   4. Google Analytics – Cookies used: __utma, __utmb, __utmc, __utmz.  WMS use Google Analytics to collect information about how people use this site. Lyndcroft do this to make sure it’s meeting its users’ needs and to understand how the performance of the site could be improved.  Google Analytics stores information about what pages you visit, how long you are on the site, how you got here and what you click on. WMS do not collect or store your personal information (e.g. your name or address) so this information cannot be used to identify who you are.   5. Google Maps – Cookies used: APISID, HSID, NID, PREF, SAPISID, SID, SSID.  WMS use Google maps to display the location of their offices. These cookies are used by Google to store user preferences and information when viewing the pages with Google maps on them.

  6. Your email and contact details.  If you use our newsletter signup form, your personal email address will be stored in our email applications. Your email address will only be used for communication between you and ourselves.  Email addresses will not be passed to any third parties. Your email address and any associated contact details delivered by email may be stored on our secure customer relations management system for our internal use.

  7. Sending documents to WMS.  If you use your email account to send us documents or images relating to a possible project, rest assured that we treat all documents with the strictest of confidence. All information will be used only by the WMS team to analyse potential projects. If we no longer need the documents you send us, they will be safely deleted from our systems. WMS are happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) or other legal document if required.

  8. Security.  This website takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and off-line.  All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information.  All of our employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Every quarter, as well as any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our customers’ information is protected.  The servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment.

  9. Sharing.  WMS will, under no circumstances, share with any third party individual IP addresses, email addresses, personal contact details or other information collected through this website or related statistic tracking systems. If information sharing is required, such as to bring in a third party in a project for example, you will be given immediate notice.

  10. External links.  This web site contains links to other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy policy applies solely to information collected by this web site.

  11. Notification of changes.  If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page immediately so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.

Data Protection Policy

We take seriously our duties, and the duties of our employees, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This policy sets out how we deal with customers’ data and our employees’ obligations in relation to any data that they handle.

The Data Protection Act states that businesses must take all possible action to protect the data they collect from customers.

We will process customer data to comply with the eight principles of good practice. These provide that customer data must be:

  • Processed fairly and lawfully
  • Processed for limited purposes and in an appropriate way
  • Adequate, relevant and not excessive for the purpose
  • Accurate
  • Not kept longer than necessary for the purpose
  • Processed in line with data subjects’ rights
  • Secure
  • Not transferred to third parties.

How we are likely to use customer data

We keep customer information on secure offsite servers, the information will be used in relation to our business with you.

The sort of information we hold about you

The sort of information we hold includes:

  • Waste Transfer Note and Contract and any amendments to it
  • correspondence with or about you, for example letters or emails to you regarding your service
  • information needed for payment purposes
  • contact details
  • records relating to service issues or payment issues

Of course, you will also inevitably be referred to in many company documents and records in the course of carrying out our duties and the business of the company.

Our obligations regarding customer data

Everyone has rights with regard to the way in which their company and personal data is handled. During the course of the company’s activities, we will collect, store and process company and personal data not only about our employees but also about our customers, suppliers and other third parties.

All Wiseman Motor Services employees are obliged to comply with data protection law and the data principles set out above when processing personal and customer data on our behalf. In particular they are obliged to comply with the following provisions and any other guidelines produced by the company relating to personal and company data and any other management instructions.

Any breach of these obligations may result in disciplinary action.

Wiseman Motor Services operates the following good working practices:

  • Use password-protected and encrypted software for the transmission and receipt of emails  Lock files in a secure cabinet
  • Not taking any customer information away from the company’s premises, or access such information on personal devices, except where you have obtained the prior consent of a Director.
  • Not leaving laptops, other devices or any hard copies of documents in a public place and taking care when observing the information in hard copy or on-screen that such information is not viewed by anyone who also has the right to that information.

Where information containing personal and customer data is disposed of, we will ensure that this is done securely. This may involve:

  • permanent removal of information from the server
  • shredding hard copies of confidential information

Data retention

We will not keep company data longer than is necessary for the purpose or purposes for which they were collected. We will take all reasonable steps to destroy, or erase from our systems, all data which is no longer required.
