The MOT is a legal requirement when a vehicle reaches a certain age and assesses whether the vehicle meets the legal, safety, and environmental standards to be considered roadworthy in the UK.

Wiseman Motor Services are an Approved MOT Testing Centre and we perform thousands of MOTs every year. All our MOT Testers complete stringent training and undergo continual reassessment by the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) to ensure the service provided to you is of the highest quality.

What is an MOT?

An MOT test is an annual inspection that is required by law on all vehicles in the UK that are older than 3 years.

The test follows strict criteria set by the DVSA to determine whether your car is safely roadworthy. A broad range of vehicle safety checks must be completed by an MOT test centre with DVSA-approved examiners, including lights, tyres, seatbelts and emissions.

When is my MOT test due?

You must get an MOT for your vehicle by either:

the third anniversary of its registration
the anniversary of its last MOT, if it’s over 3 years old

After its initial MOT, it will then require one every year on the anniversary of its last MOT.

How do I book an MOT?

There are certain rules about how early you can take your car for its annual MOT test. The inspection can be carried out up to 28 days before the expiry date.

Very impressed with my interactions with Wiseman's. Helped me out in the past when told by a different MOT station that a number of things would soon need attention. Looks can be very deceiving!! I have become so used to these glossy garages with fancy tech that are never able to fix any serious issues.
